Notebook for Documentation

I found the best solution to make a good documentation is the ability to write it down everywhere and at everytime instead of sitting in front of my pc the whole day and night.
So, the best solution would be to have a small notebook or something.
I believe in these good old small thinkpads like the T41, and they are becoming very cheap, sometimes cheaper as some of these useless modern netbooks.
A small Thinkpad is from good quality and will fit best, great keyboard, good performance, and its known beeing good at Linux. Also it only costs about 200 or 300 euros (used, refurbished).
